The Vision God has given me for This Historical Church
God has given my wife and me the assignment of renewing and rebuilding a historical old church in Selma, CA. As you navigate through the “About Me” section of our page, I would like to share with you the Vision that God has placed upon our hearts for First Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
It’s a Vision deeply rooted in faith, community, and renewal, reflecting both our commitment to Christ and the legacy of our church.
- Renewing a Legacy: God has called me to serve at First Friendship with a very special mission in mind—to breathe new life into a church rich in history and faith. Over the years, we’ve seen many of our beloved members go home to be with the Lord, leaving a legacy of faith and dedication behind them.
- Now, it’s time to honor their legacy by inviting new life into our congregation. This isn’t just about increasing numbers; it’s about rekindling the vibrant spirit of worship and community that has always defined us. We are here to reignite the flame of faith, making First Friendship a beacon of hope and light in our community once again.
- Building for Christ: My wife and I have always seen ourselves as builders for Christ. Our vision extends beyond the immediate; we are committed to laying the foundations for a brand-new church. This doesn’t simply mean constructing a new building, but rather, building up a community of believers who are deeply connected to their faith and to each other.
- We envision a church that stands as a testament to God’s love and grace, a place where people from all walks of life can come together to worship, learn, and grow in their faith.
- Inviting Young Families: A key aspect of our vision for renewal involves welcoming young families into our church family. We believe that the energy, perspectives, and enthusiasm of young families are crucial to the growth and vitality of our church.
